What to do when you feel alone

According to psychcentral.com and I quote: “According to much research, women across all ages and stages of life report higher levels of loneliness than men do. Except, that is, in one particular group: single people.” Research seems to suggest that loneliness is contagious!! Lonely people give rise to more lonely people! Not sure I agree, but that’s what the researchers have found…

So what can women do to reduce feelings of loneliness;

1. Spend more time with friends. Have nights out or activities evening at different homes. You could take turns having games nights..

2. Join or start a group at your local church. I remember my dear friend, who has since passed on, starting a group. They would meet every Wednesday for art and craft. She loved it. It got her out of her house and helped her stay in touch with old friends and meet new ones.

3. Get involved in some voluntary work. It’s a great way to meet people. Most charitable organisations leap at the opportunity of taking on volunteers for obvious reasons.

4. Join a hobby group. Think of a hobby you enjoy, check online if there’s hobby group in your area. Join and begin to share your skills, plus make new friends.
